Ministry #3 - Trelawney - True Seer?

Ministry #2: The Look of Triumph in Dumbledore's Eyes

Hi and welcome to the very first Ministry editorial. Here you will probably find a weekly (if time allows) editorial by me, Hoggy, a.k.a Ciarán. In this editorial I will be analysing various aspects of the Harry Potter series. Please remember I am very open to correction so owl me! Feel free, if you have a good point or hidden meaning, and have written an editorial, to owl it in and it will be posted.

As this is the first editorial, it wont be long.

Now, the topic will be: what exactly Dumbledore meant in the Howler he sent to Petunia. This will seem obvious to nearly everyone but this is only the first editorial!

Remember my last, Petunia.

OotP, pg. 41 (English Version)

I think its pretty evident what this meant. Dumbledore is just warning her to remember what he said in the last letter (howler in this case), which was when Dumbledore left Harry (after Voldemorts attack) on her doorstep.

In that letter he explained how Harry was safest at the Dursleys.

This must be what was meant by, my last my last letter. Petunia then decided not to kick Harry out. So by, my last this must have been what Dumbledore was referring to.

A new point (15/11/03): I was just reading the Book 5 clues and realised that this topic is brought up and they say why didn't Harry recognise Dumbledore's voice and maybe my 'last' wasn't referring to the letter he left with Harry on the doorstep of the Dursleys' when he was a baby. Well, I think, that there are two reasons why Harry didn't recognise the voise:

1) Because, it was so loud, and Harry was in a state of shock

2) Because Dumbledore -- being so powerful -- magically altered his voice so Harry wouldn't recognise it -- fearing, perhaps, that Harry would figure out what he was trying to tell Petunia: that he was safest with them. This could be possible because in a later chpater Dumbledore said he was ready to know about it yet.

Thanks for reading watch out for my next editorial!
